A practical check for local news
Suppose you want the evening news for Perth. Open a guide set to your Perth location and note the programme title, start time and advertised station. Compare those details with the electronic programme guide in the trial, then listen to the opening stories. A matching channel label alone does not establish that it is the WA edition.
Test your usual networks separately
| Viewing priority | What to check |
|---|---|
| ABC or SBS | The exact service, local edition, captions and start time. |
| Seven, Nine or 10 | The city or regional feed and programme title. Ask about the individual feed. |
| Family or multilingual viewing | The programme language, audio options and captions on your actual player. |
When a broadcaster app is enough
If you only want one broadcaster, check its own service first. ABC iview and SBS On Demand are distinct from an IPTV subscription. Their own access and device conditions apply. A broadcaster listing helps identify a programme; it does not confirm inclusion in a separate package.
